Attitude formation - triadic

Attitudes

Need to know - definition and how the three parts affect attitude formation and change

Act towards something.

Triadic Model

Cognitive - what you know about the attitudinal object

Affective - what you feel about the attitudinal object

Behavioural - how you act towards the attitudinal object

If CAB in harmony = cognitive consonance = attitude formed and strong

C - i know cricket is a great game, A - i love cricket - it makes me happy B - i play cricket

If CAB isnt in harmony = cognitive dissonance = attitude could be changed

C - i know running is good for me, A - i don't like running, B - i don't run

Make the A better, run some walk some, rest for a bit = B i run.
